Burnaby Winter Club is proud to congratulate Logan Henry on being selected to represent Canada at the 2026 U17 World Challenge, taking place November 1–7 in Oakville, Ontario.

Henry is among 44 players named to Hockey Canada’s two national teams, Canada Red and Canada White, for the international tournament at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.

The U17 World Challenge marks an important step in Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence, bringing together some of the country’s top young hockey talent for international competition.

“Being selected to represent your country is an incredible achievement, and we’re extremely proud of Logan,” said Mark Santorelli, Burnaby Winter Club Hockey Director. “He’s worked hard to earn this opportunity, and it’s exciting to see him take this next step in his hockey career. We’re looking forward to watching him compete on the international stage.”

Henry was selected by the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League (WHL). All 44 players named to the U17 World Challenge have been drafted by Canadian Hockey League teams, including 18 from the Ontario Hockey League, 17 from the WHL and nine from the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League.

Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence general manager Alan Millar emphasized the significance of the opportunity for the young athletes.

“We are excited to unveil the 44 athletes who have earned the opportunity to represent Canada at the U17 World Challenge in Oakville, as this is an important step in their development and progression through the Program of Excellence,” said Millar.

The tournament begins November 1, with Canada White facing Czechia and Canada Red taking on Finland. Following preliminary-round and playoff action, the semifinals are scheduled for November 6, with the medal games taking place November 7.

Canada enters the tournament looking for its fourth consecutive gold medal, having won with Canada White in 2023 and 2024 and Canada Red in 2025.

The U17 World Challenge has a long history of showcasing future NHL talent, with past participants including Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid, Macklin Celebrini and Matthew Schaefer.

TSN and RDS will provide coverage of the medal games, while other tournament games will be available through Hockey Canada’s official livestreaming partner, HNLive.ca.

Congratulations, Logan, from everyone at Burnaby Winter Club!
