The U17 AAA Academy Head Coach will take on an expanded role, mentoring coaches and supporting player development across BWC’s hockey programs.

We are excited to announce that Dave Wilkie has joined the Burnaby Winter Club as our Senior Coach and the newest member of our Hockey Operations Team.

Dave is a familiar face within our community, currently serving as Head Coach of our U17 AAA Academy team. His commitment to player development, attention to detail, and ability to build strong relationships with athletes and families have made him an important part of our program. Through his work with the U17 Academy group, Dave has demonstrated a passion for teaching and mentorship that aligns closely with the Burnaby Winter Club’s commitment to long-term player development.

In his role as Senior Coach, Dave will attend practices and work directly with players and coaches across our programs. He will observe practices and provide feedback to coaches, helping them plan and execute effective, development-focused training sessions. Dave will serve as a mentor and resource for our coaching staff, supporting their growth while promoting best practices in teaching and player development.

This role is designed to strengthen the quality and consistency of coaching throughout our program and enhance the development experience for every athlete. Dave’s experience, leadership, and passion for helping players and coaches reach their full potential will be a tremendous asset to our hockey community.

Please join us in welcoming Dave to his new role with us.
